Yay! Jetstar has two baby tomatoes!!!

I also noticed some other signs of veggies on my other plants too! Yippeee!!

The whole family is getting in on the action!!!

My sister advised me to start small with my garden and eventually I could fill up the whole empty space where my pool was.
My husband looked at the space that was left and told me "I want to plant corn here!" So today we got some some seeds and we'll see what happens!

My sister who has been gardening for a few years now brought me a present today! A pumpkin, zucchini and begonia for my garden!!

In the beginning...

I did it, finally after 14 years of living in my home, I made a backyard garden! My backyard is full of trees and rocks and I never thought it would be a good place to plant things. However my overwhelming desire to play in the dirt plus by sisters enthusiastic encouragement caused me to forget my logical thoughts about poor soil and no sun and do it anyway! We had an above ground pool at one time and had laid down a few tarps covered with sand. After we took down the pool, we never removed the tarps. It was a lot of work pulling them out since they were under years of dirt and roots.

My sister gave me some of this to add to the dirt

This was how it looked after pulling up the tarp that was covered by over 5 years of dirt and roots.

Yay! Basil, grape tomato, red pepper and cucumber!
